Youth Advisory Group
The Africa Growth Dialogues Youth Advisory Group (YAG) brings together a diverse group of young African leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and changemakers who contribute their perspectives, experiences, and ideas to the design of the Dialogues. The YAG helps ensure that youth voices are integrated upstream in the programme, not only as participants but as contributors to the identification of priorities, challenges, and possible pathways for action. Through its engagement, the group supports the Africa Growth Dialogues in remaining relevant to the realities, aspirations, and opportunities shaping Africa’s next generation.

Benedict Owanga
Founder of Owanga Solar
Benedict Owanga is a lawyer and the founder of Owanga Solar, a company that builds battery packs in the Democratic Republic of Congo to bring reliable, off-grid power to communities that live without steady electricity. Owanga powers homes and schools, and has devices that let people charge their phones. The company is now scaling into the mineral sector.
The company has won numerous awards, including recognition from the World Bank and the African Union.

Damilola Hamid
Co-founder/CEO, Youth Sustainable Development Network
Damilola Hamid Balogun is a clean energy systems and green growth strategist, lawyer, and Co-Founder & CEO of the Youth Sustainable Development Network, where he leads renewable energy, climate, and SME development initiatives across Africa. Recognised as a Forbes Africa 30 Under 30, he has directed multi-donor programmes exceeding US$500,000, including Powering Lagos SMEs, CoolCycle, advancing clean energy adoption, productive-use energy, and climate resilience. His work focuses on translating international climate and energy policy into scalable local solutions through investment readiness, distributed energy systems, and public-private-philanthropic partnerships. Damilola has contributed to global energy dialogues and has co-authored policy briefs on energy transition and market development. He holds an MSc in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability and Social Change from Linnaeus University, an advanced certification in Climate, Energy and Sustainability Policy from the University of Florence.

Jessica Mshama
Founder & Director (Nakua Na Taifa Langu)
Jessica Mshama is a Tanzanian entrepreneur, youth leader, and advocate for digital education and financial empowerment. She holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is currently pursuing dual Master’s degrees in Leadership & Governance and International Business.
Jessica founded Nakua Na Taifa Langu, an NGO advancing digital literacy and entrepreneurship among African youth, and serves as School Director of Assumpter Digital Schools in Dar es Salaam. She has represented Tanzanian and East African youth on global platforms, including the UN General Assembly (UNGA77) and COP28.
Her impact has earned her recognition on Forbes 30 Under 30 Africa and 40 Under 40 Africa, among numerous other honors. Jessica remains driven by one conviction: that digital skills and education are the foundation of a more equitable future for Africa’s next generation.

Dr. Khadija Owusu is a British-Ghanaian medical doctor, global health leader and Founder & CEO of AKAYA Foundation, a youth-led nonprofit advancing health, education and leadership for young women and girls across Ghana, Kenya and the UK. Alongside her clinical practice in the NHS, she works at the intersection of medicine, prevention, youth leadership and social innovation, championing community-led approaches to improving health outcomes and advancing health equity. Dr. Khadija holds a Master of Public Health from Imperial College London and has been recognised as a Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 honouree, Diana Award recipient and one of the UK's leading diaspora changemakers. Through her work, she is passionate about shaping the future of healthcare, sustainable development and youth leadership across Africa and beyond.

Contextual Risk Specialist, IFC
Sustainability and Climate Risk Specialist with years of experience in development finance and international organizations. PhD from TU Dresden, Germany. Currently a Contextual Risks Specialist at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and a Research Fellow at the United Nations University Resource Nexus, working at the intersection of climate-fragility risk, agrifood systems, and E&S safeguards across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Sibusiso Mazomba
Youth Advisor, UN Secretary-General Youth Advisory Group
Sibusiso Mazomba is a youth advisor to the UN Secretary-General on Climate Change. He supports the South African delegation at the UNFCCC as a young negotiator where he negotiates on loss and damage, adaptation, climate finance and Global Stocktake. As a policy and advocacy lead at the African Climate Alliance, he spearheaded South Africa's first ever youth-led climate litigation, securing a historic court victory that declared government coal procurement plans unlawful and invalid. More recently, he is the co-founder of Anecdex, a secure digital platform empowering African writers and educators to monetise content while connecting readers and students to African knowledge in a professional, protected ecosystem. His work integrates grassroots activism, multilateral policy and technology innovation to drive equitable, youth-centered solutions for Africa's sustainable development and climate resilience
